Why 2 starting DEF with the bye weeks doesn't that possibly lead to an unfair advantage or disadvantage for some. It's not like everyone will get to choose which team DEF. they get.
Same thing with having 12 starting positions and only an 8 rd. draft. Won't that force some teams to play with at least 4 empty positions during a bye week?
Why are we filling all our roster space before we draft players? Or are we going to have 25 spots on the roster?
QB-McCoy RB-Hardesty RB-Hillis TE-Watson WR-Robiske WR-Stuckey WR-Massaquoi WR/TE-Moore WR/TE-Cameron WR/RB-Marecic WR/RB-Cribbs K- B-Mitchell(WR) B-Little(WR) B-Porter(RB) B-Norwood(WR) B-Haggerty(WR)
Plus eight draft picks? I'm a little confused.(Nothing new however)

Note: I increased the bench spot (now 6 bench spots) by one so there are now 19 roster spots. We will have 10 keepers and the franchise's defense as on spot and then an 8 round draft to get to 19.
1. The reason for 2 starting defenses is this......Part of this league is making it a different than the norm league. Each team will have to keep their franchise's defense year to year (kind of gives an identity. So to negate the owners from not playing their franchise's defense (in case it is a crappy one) then we are starting two defenses. Just a bit different than the normal run of the mill league. 2. We do have 6 bench spots to use up. So on bye weeks, you can substitute out those guys that are not playing with guys that are playing. There may be a week (because a franchise league) where some of your spots are empty. I don't foresee a huge problem there, but if it is, then after this season we can adjust it. 3. Why filling out rosters now....so you can see who from your franchise fills out what spots....then we'll decide on a keeper deadline. You name your 10 keepers (aside from your defense) and then we'll fill the other 8 spots from the draft (other team's players that were not protected and unowned franchise players)

Alright, I thought the 10 keepers started next year. At what point will our franchise players be locked into our teams? For example, if the Browns trade McCoy to the Packers for Rodgers, when would I get Rodgers or have to keep McCoy? And FA, for example, I'll use Dawson is he my property or are we waiting until they are signed to belong to that new team?

The 10 keepers will start this year......once the franchises are selected, each owner will keep the defense and select 10 keepers. Then we will proceed with the draft to fill out the rosters to get to 19 total spots (10 keepers, 1 franchise defense, and 8 draft selections. Guys don't forget to include your 2011 NFL draft selections into your team's keepers as well...if you want them (offense guys) The rosters will be locked once we get these team selections done. Then a keeper deadline will be enforced in a day or so following the team selections being done.

Is the draft a snake draft?
To repeat Ken's question...At what point will our franchise players be locked into our teams to prevent us from losing them to real life trades?

Yes it will be a snake draft....and it will be locked as soon as the drafting of teams is over; which should be tonight or tomorrow afternoon. Then we'll choose ten keepers from that.

Brian, will you be able to load the 10 keepers into yahoo so we can see which players are available?

Yes, I plan on doing that. That's why I want to get this team selection over and get the 10 keepers for everyone done asap.

I'll load the ten keepers into yahoo....anyone that wants to draft a free agent (once the draft starts) can do so - say Plaxico Burress. he doesn't have a team, but you can still draft him if you want. Is that what you are asking Ken?

Is that what you are asking Ken? There are dozens of free agents right now. Just a few of them are Arian Foster, Houston, Darren Sproles, San Diego, Phil Dawson, and Lawrence Vickers, Cleveland. I think trades are a small issue compared to the number of players that will be going to sign with new teams this year. So we are using last years rosters, is what I'm trying to ask? So if Foster signs with San Diego he will still belong Tim and not Jim. The answer is a true insane fan.

I'll have to think about that - because Arian Foster is an exclusive rights free agent...as are others. Really Foster is not a free agent as he is not allowed to sign with another team - only the Texans. With this whole CBA stuff going on, who knows who will be an unrestricted FA or who won't be. I'll think about this one.

What about Sidney Rice? Or are all fa remain on last years roster? Should be the same for any fa.

The question was raised by a couple of people regarding the bye week and being able to compensate for those players being out.
Right now we have 6 bench spots.....I can raise that to 8, but I don't want to go much higher than that. Let me know your thoughts?
