I've sent him an Instant Message, but he's currently offline. Hopefully he'll iron it out tonight or by morning.

Wasn't Duncan in the majors last year?
What was the reason for us posting 20 protected minor leaguers, if all our minor leaguers are protected? I'm getting more & more confused?

Just like your minors or our minors. Say you have Chuck Lofgren come up to the majors........but you decide to leave him on your minor league roster and not bring him up - that's up to you to decide. Since he is your property, it's up to you if you want to bring him up or leave him down, and just not get his stats. Osborne wasn't as active last year, and I guess decided that when Duncan was available, he didn't pick him up and put him on his major league roster. When you bring someone up, he has to stay up and can only be sent down, if the team itself sends him back down.
Now if a player opens the season from day one on the major league roster, he has to open the season on your major league roster as well. Which all of us will have to do and look at once we get to that point.
Hope this makes sense.

He NEVER posted his 20 protected minor leaguers! Duncan started the year "in the minors" for Osbourne. Even though Duncan made it to the Majors last season, Osbourne never "called him up" to his Major League roster. Essentially, if you don't ever call the guy up, you are penalized by the fact that you aren't gaining the benefit of his major league success.
A good example from my team is Craig Hansen. He made it to the majors, but he hadn't shown enough yet to make me want to add him to my 30-man big league squad.
This is basically the reason that we should have to add a guy to our 30-man roster if he makes the Opening Day club. Then, you can't stash a guy in the minors forever.
On a sidenote: Other than the Justin Upton type guys (minor leaguers taken in the Major League fantasy draft), we have the added flexibility to move guys up & down from our Major League fantasy roster and Minor League fantasy roster if the player is promoted/demoted from/to the Minors in real life.

Posting the minor league keepers doesn't really affect the draft............since we're not drafting from the pool of the 12 owned minor league players - keepers or non-keepers.
The only way I guess it could help is maybe in the case of Duncan with the Cards - being able to see whether he is on the Cards minor league list of last year or the major league keeper list of this year.
The only guy that would be a problem is Osborne because he hasn't posted a 20 man keeper list ever. Everyone else has one - either in last year's minor league thread or this year's minor league keeper thread. I can copy and paste who is missing so far in the updated version so it's all in one place..................the lists will probably not be updated (which they don't really need to be just yet until after opening day).

I just received an email reply from Osbourne and he's committed to doing it today.

That's good.............I'm copying the missing owner's minor league keepers from last year's thread into this year's thread, so we at least have someting there to search from.....instead of going between the two threads.
We will have a minor league draft sometime in May. And the 16 of 20 minor league keepers will be due 1 week before the draft date - which we'll set sometime after opening day gets underway. Then we'll have a 4 round minor leage draft.

Posting the minor league keepers doesn't really affect the draft............. OK, I think this is what confused me, and perhaps confused others. I guess I assumed that there was a reason that we were asked to pare down our minor league keepers and post them in a 2007 thread prior to the Major league portion of the draft.

I am just trying to get everyone going, because last year people didn't post until very late and a couple didn't post at all until just before this season started, and we still have one left to do so. Just trying to get a head start, but it also does help (as in the Duncan case) to see who is left off of the 18 protected players and check and see if they are in the minors as well - some might have played last year, but the team never brought them up and some think they may be FA or something..........

This is why we need to have our minor league keepers posted.
Wahoo, did you pick up Wainwright last year off of the waiver wire (if you can remember) or via trade or something........?

Regarding Adam Wainwright... If you look in this thread, you will see that Wainwright was traded to me: clevelandsports.proboards28.com/index.cgi?board=fantasy1&action=display&thread=1140904261&page=2 At some point (I think once we got the league on Yahoo), I traded him to FantasyGeek... I think Brendan Donnelly and Nick Adenhart were involved... I recommend that everyone keep a list or spreadsheet or something, just to keep this junk straight. When there are 600 players involved, it is impossible for 2 people to keep track of. That is why it is crucial that everyone's roster be complete and accurate.

After research, TFAZ is correct..........Wainwright belongs to the Angels via trades.

Apologies. I looked through all 27 plus pages and missed this post. I thought I'd looked very carefully. I did not recall making any trades of young players but I guess I did make that single one.
I'll remove him from my roster of protected minor leaguers.

That's correct. TFAZ traded Wainwright to me & he was on my ML roster for much of the season.
