The Yankees go with another High Risk/ High Reward pick, In doing so The New York Yankees select....Greg MILLER • SP/RP • Los Angeles Dodgers.
Roto:
Acquired: 1st round, 2002, Esperanza HS (Anaheim, CA).
Miller had the stuff of an ace, but his shoulder wasn’t able to hold up as a starter. Now it appears that he could be a full-time reliever this year. He might be one of the game’s best if only he can put his arm problems in the past. Miller’s fastball has reached 95-97 mph, and he also works in a cutter. Both his curveball and changeup can be plus pitches. With just 35 innings pitched over the last two years, he has lost plenty of development time. Still, he’s not going to need a lot of work in the minors to get to the point at which he can retire major league hitters. He’s basically where Bobby Jenks was a year ago.
