I would like to add a 2 spot reserve list and an optional 2 rd. reserve draft. Same time limits & draft order as 1st & 2nd rounds to be held following the first(regular) draft.
This should be very simple and spice up the league.
1. Reserve players may be obtained by either drafts or thru yahoo waivers/FA rules. Roster spots vacated by transferring reserve eligible players may be filled by waiver/FA thru yahoo.
2. Players may only be added to the reserve list if they are not on a 25 man roster(or were not on one at the time of roster expansion Sept 1 last season) and have rookie eligibility(130 AB/50 IP/40 appearances).
3. Reserve players may remain on the reserve list the entire year they are obtained. However, if they are added to the 30 man roster they may only be placed back on the reserve list if they are sent down by their MLB team and have rookie eligibility(130 AB/50 IP/40 appearances).
Discussion?

WVTF, if I am understading right this is similar to our reserve list in the Imaginary Friends League, yes?

Similar, yes. Only now they can say on it all year.
Do you like this idea?

Who is going to police the list during the season? Every league I have been in before that tries this turns out to be an utter failure. Owners usually abuse this more than anything.
I think if you want to hold onto those players you should sacrifice a roster spot for them. One of the enjoyments during the season is waiting for potential prospects to come up and make waiver claims on them. Now we have to scour the "reserve list" to see if the person is protected.
Again, my opinion is if you want to protect those players you do so at the expense of an active roster spot. Aren't the rosters big enough already?

I'm OK either way, but since the draft already started, it may be best to table this until next winter. Just a suggestion.

So I would be able to add Bryce Harper to that list? right?

Just too much complication for my taste.

I don't want the added complication either.

I'm indifferent to it... I would have selected Bauer & Hultzen regardless of whether there was a reserve list or not. Will be fine with the group decision.

What was the final decision on this? Still leaning toward doing this for 2012 but not yet final.

As much as I have moaned in the past about changes being made after starting a draft/season and not receiving unanimous support for this change. I have decided to wait until the 2013 season to implement the changes. I think it's the only fair way to handle it.
Any input going forward in this plan is welcome and appreciated.
