Note to all:
I've added Rule 10 to discuss the whole issue around International Free Agents. This isn't a new rule, but hopefully it spells out how we've treated these situations in the past.
Let me know what you think of the verbiage. I've tried to use examples of players to differentiate between the Ichiros and the Miguel Sanos of the world.

Another question for the group.
Example: Steven Pearce (OF, PIT) has exceeded the at-bat limits and will have to be elevated to my majors roster 2 weeks after the season begins, or else I lose him. In the end, I probably won't keep Pearce and will forfeit his rights.
The question: For guys like this, where we know we probably won't keep them, should we give teams the opportunity to drop them prior to the draft starting? In theory, someone may potentially draft Pearce (or some other similar player) and therefore push other players further down the draft board.
For other players, where you might still be on the fence whether you'll keep them or not, it does make sense to hold on to them in case of spring injury or if you are able to trade their rights during the draft.
Just thought I'd throw it out there for opinion.

I don't think we will have this situation in the future. As I understand the new rule 7e These players should be on the keeper list or are FA eligible for the draft.
7e. If the promoted prospect achieves Rule 7b at any point during the season -- at the start of the season and even in August -- once a player in your major or minor league system attains the 150 AB or 50 IP status, they must be added to your official major league roster.

Good point!
I guess the rule change does fix that going forward. Staying with the example, I would have had to add Steve Pearce in the middle of last year in order to retain his rights.

I have a request. Could we please move the draft up to Jan. or Feb. next year?
Many of us are drafting in 3-5 leagues right now & it's very aggravating. There was little going on in Jan. & Feb. & it would've been a lot less confusing to space these league drafts out a bit.
Not telling anyone what to do, but I have no desire to go thru this ever again.

Likewise... Torii, we had some good years. In fact, I went to your Spring Training game today to bid you adieu.

Can we plan to have Keepers declared before it opens so we can start the draft the following weekend. We can be finished before March this way.

Let me know what you think of the verbiage. I've tried to use examples of players to differentiate between the Ichiros and the Miguel Sanos of the world. What about this, 10. In order to keep a level playing field, all International players signed as Free Agents before the start of the draft are eligible for the major league draft. All eligible un-drafted International signed FA are awarded by default to their franchise minor leagues and may stay until they attain 7b limits of 150 At-Bats or 50 Innings Pitched.
International signings after the draft begins may be added through the waiver process at the conclusion of the draft. If player(s) is not in Yahoo database then a open roster spot must be held for player(s). Unclaimed players default to their franchise after the season. If believe this is similar to the process of added prospects during the Minor League draft . As for players like Adeiny Hechevarria, who signed after the start of the draft. It's either make them not eligible until next year or the waiver process as stated above.

Does anyone here realize that we have more rules then most religions have commandments. Geez I thought fantasy league is suppose to be fun!

HA HA! Most of these rules are only necessary because of the two unique features of this league (owners own franchises, plus the minor league aspect). Those are the two features of this league that make this one extra fun for me, despite a lot of rules.
