The A's and Yankees have made a Deal. With New York's Minor League system in Shambles The Yankees Send Aging and Disgruntled Pitcher Randy Johnson to The Oakland Athletic's in exchange for their Five remaining picks. Yankees feel that with Mark Prior soon to be off the D.L. (and maybe back on it) and the wealth of Free Agent Pitchers looking for a Home right now, That they do not want to come away empty handed once Mr. Johnson's Baseball carrer ends. Also the Top Rated Yankees feel they can only better themselves with the extra Draft Picks. This a a win/win situation for both ballclubs, The A's get a HOF pitcher who is winding down his career and The Yankees get the youth to help them in the Future. The Trade goes as follows: To Oak:SP - Randy Johnson To NYY:The following Five Picks below. Pick #62, a.) Athletics (Ray), c.) Athletics (Ray), d.) Athletics (Ray), h.) Athletics (Ray), Supplemental Round (skipped picks) A's to confirm later. At this stage of his career, I'm not sure that Big Unit is worth 5 prospects, but ummm... OK... I guess I can buy it. Whom prolly will never affect me

I personally think we should have like a 10 round minor league draft. Noone has the rights to anyone player untill they are drafted. I think it should apply to player not on a 25 Major League roster. No drafting of a player in the Major League Draft that isnt on a 25 man roster.
Or we can make it to where we only protect 5 guys and then draft maybe 10 rounds.
