This will be the official thread for tracking all the rules and regulations pertaining to the GoG Franchise Football league. I will be adding material here shortly.
Thanks.
Brian
Once you have drafted your team, here are some 'Franchise' rules to owning your team:
- We will go with 10 keepers that you get to name from year to year
- One half of your keepers must be named from your Franchise that you own
- i.e. you own the Browns --- 1/2 of your keepers must be a browns offensive player (with 10 keepers, 5 of the keepers must be from that franchise you own - i.e. the browns)
- so be careful in in-season and off-season trades, as you don't want to have to name a kicker or backup tight end a keeper cause you traded away your actual Franchise's good player for a different franchise good player.
- Each team must use 2 defenses in their starting lineup (this is a change as I had originally only had 1 defense we had to start)
- Part of this Franchise league is that you have to keep your Franchise's defense every year (and this is not included in your team's keepers listed year to year)
Here are the basics:
- 16 team league
- Once you receive your team you fill out your roster of 1 QB, 3 WRs, 2 RBs, 1 TE, 4 various flex positions, 1 K and 2 DEF (1 IR and 5 bench spots) from the team that you receive (i.e. the GB Packers)
- Each franchise also receives that team's draft influx of players (each year) to help fill out their roster as well
- Once everyone fills out their roster, then we'll set a keeper deadline (not including your franchise's defense)
- The remaining guys from that specific team that did not make your keeper cut goes to the FA pool
- We will then have an 8 round draft, that includes that from the NFL rookie draft (from unowned teams, players from unowned franchises, and those players left to the FA pool not kept by owned franchises).
- the draft order will be in reverse order of the draft selection to pick our franchises
In-Season Items:
- The first season, the waiver wire will be set opposite of the draft order
- There will be 4 divisions
- The play will be Head to Head
- The 4 division winners and 2 wild cards get playoff bids
- Playoff weeks will be weeks 14, 15, and 16
Off-Season Items:
- Once season is over, you receive your team's draft of rookies and fill out roster
- There will then be a deadline to name your 10 keepers
- The rest of your team will go into the draft pool, along with incoming (unowned franchise) rookies and FA pool

Here are the roster and stat categories.....I removed one of the flex positions (the W/T flex position) and kept the 6 bench spots. This will help with starting positions come the bye week.
We will then have a 7 round draft once the 10 keepers are finalized. Please edit your keepers and rosters if you need to to remove the W/T flex spot if you had already included it.
