Hey, I'll make my pick and thanks.
PS. Shouldn't this be a snake draft? Why would I be stuck picking last every round. This is a huge disadvantage and makes no sense.

Haggstown has made not made this a snake draft because it is a franchise league. Teams toward the back end of each round had the opportunity to select their team first from the list of franchises. For example, tribefan31 was the last to pick a team (the White Sox) and thus gets the 1st pick each round.
I questioned the system too at first, but Haggstown has stated that all franchise keeper leagues are this way.

I played in 3 franchise leagues last year and NEVER have seen such a horrible system. Sorry but this is totally unfair. The logic you described makes no sense. Considering that you are drafting from such a rich player pool it's even more lopsided. The team picking first (or early every round) gains a massive advantage. Picking 12th I already miss out the absolute surefire top picks like a Teixiera for example. I get a good player but this is pretty weak. Sorry but I should get the 12th and 13th players with the team picking first getting the 1st and 24th then 25th players. That's the only way it even comes close to being balanced.
I'm the new guy but I won't hesitate to raise this type of issue because it so obviously changes negatively the balance of power in such a league.
Think about it for a second. The team picking first will have the 1st/13th/25th pick. I'll have 12th and 24th and 36th. That's just outrageous.

PS. I'll pick Roy Oswalt, SP. And I should also be able to pick another player but will wait on that until there is a consensus on this important topic.

Todd:
Let's wait and see what Haggstown says, since it is his league.
Check back often, just in case he decides to switch it over to a snake draft.

The Yankees will be chosen as the 1st or 2nd team in nearly every franchise league. How will the teams that are taken near the end have any way of competing with their all-star lineup if you don't balance it out with a regular MLB-type draft?
The Yankees 200M lineup may not = championships in real life, but they do wonders for a fantasy team.

If someone's time expires before they make their pick, are we just letting them hop back in and make a pick from whoever is left in the player pool?
This is how the NFL draft works in real life, as evidenced by the Minnesota Vikings a couple years back.
Seems fair to me, if they haven't taken the initiative to PM someone with their draft list.
