Actually TFAZ, we didn't start discussing the minor league draft until easily after you had picked a team. Which was in the middle of the pack. If I do remember right, we had a discussion on whether or not we were going to do a minor league draft about when we were trying to fill out the last few spots in the league. Which by then, most teams had already chosen their teams.

After thinking about it and reviewing the minor league draft, many problems and questions do arise out of this.
1.) Say we keep a total of 14 players from our own entire minor league system. 14 guys isn't really that much when you have systems like the Marlins, Indians, Twins, Angels, Dodgers, etc who have a nice load of talent - which is why some people chose those teams in the first place.
2.) Say we keep 14 minor leaguers, but only from the double A level and triple A levels. The problem with this is, is that having your 14 keepers selected from those opening day 25 man rosters could also be a problem - considering the Indians for example: Just from the top of my head in Akron and Buffalo I can name 22 guys: Denham Sowers Francisco Garko Miller Cruceta Snyder Carmona Gutierrez Crowe Head Aubrey Pesco Ochoa Dittler Martin Mulhern Guthrie Tadano Davis Brown Bay
So keeping 14 might not be the answer. fantasygeek brings up a valid point. It's almost not fair to those teams who selected teams with a deep minor league system to say we are doing a minor league once teams have been selected and keeping having to protect only 14 guys.
We could still do a minor league draft, but do it as to where each team keeps all their own minor leaguers and have a draft from the other 18 teams only. We could still do a 6 round draft from the other 18 teams and have our minor league guys plus 6 from the other teams.
Then each year we could do a 1 round minor league draft - doing a reverse order of how the teams finished.

That is something to consider. The minor league draft isn't up for a while, so it's something we can easily discuss...........

OK..........after many questions and comments. The minor league draft order has been modified once again.
We will be having a 6 round minor league draft. It will start in reverse order of the Major league draft order. And then go snake style the rest of the way. Please check the 1st post for updates.
*****For Winker and TFAZ - Winker has the right to rescind the trade for Pedroia or work out a different trade if he so chooses since his pick goes from #11 to #2.*****

Ok..................for the minor league draft we will be using a snake draft. We'll go by the order we used for the major league draft in round one and then go from there.

He's already PMd me. I don't believe he is in favor of it.

No, actually it's a very valid point.
I know it's not fair to Winker to all of a sudden go from a low 1st round pick to a very high 1st round pick to give up.

Well, that obviously doesn't help.
Let me re-think this - and if I stay with the current status of a reverse order, then Winker or TFAZ has the option of rescinding the trade.
Or I may just go with a snake draft or use the same as the MLB draft process.
