Richie, you already own Travis Wood. So, keep him on your minors roster and re-pick.
I know this may be confusing, but the White Sox previous owner never called up Travis Wood last year. As such, Richie never had him on the final roster from which he created his 20-man keepers. Wood was on Richie's minors keeper list prior to the draft.
The way we are treating these players, who surpassed the limits in the preceding season, is that we will have to add them within the first 2 weeks of the 2011 season.

Jim, Travis Wood was over his 80 IP limit This was addressed with RAR and Hags. RAR choose to release him ,we just failed to remove him his list and inform everyone else. HE got past me in all the confusion last year.
As far as I'm concerned he should some how keep him.

It is my impression that we were reverting to the "easier to keep track of" version, where anybody who passed the limits in 2010 can be on the minors roster until the deadline a couple weeks into the season (post-draft).

I thought those who pasted the limits had to be placed on the 20 man keeper list going into this year. Actually IIRC you suggested or at least agreed that it would help increase the draft pool ? But hey, it wouldn't be CSC franchise league if I wasn't confused. But I love this league. I sent you the emails I sent haggs and RAR

In "the good old days" these prospects were able to stay on your minors roster until the following spring, after the majors draft. If my memory serves, I had guys like Brandon Wood / Steven Pearce / JR Towles and somebody else that fell into this category last year. Prior to last year's majors draft, I released the rights to Pearce & Towles just in case anybody wanted them (because I had no plans on adding them 2 weeks into the season) and that's where I said it would help increase the draft pool.
In Brandon Wood's case, which was just last season, I am pretty sure I held his rights until 2 weeks in and then added him to my roster. Then, somewhere along the line last season we wanted to have people be required to add these guys within 2 weeks of passing their limits. This, of course, creates a secretarial nightmare for Ken who was kind enough to help us track it.
I don't so much care if it is before the draft or after the draft where we "fish or cut bait" with these guys, but the thing I liked about having it after the draft is that I could still have my 20 keepers and adding a guy like Brandon Wood a couple weeks in would potentially be a better player than my 10th round pick from the draft.

Last year, because of the new 2 wk rule Haggs set the date at April 14th because it was a new rule going into effect.
But going forward (starting with 2011) the exceed limit players would need to be added with the keepers. So were both correct.

I'm totally cool with it and Richie still gets his guy, but I just want to make sure that everybody has the same understanding.
What I'm not sure of, is are there any other guys among the minor league lists (or even guys off lists but still within a franchise) that fall into the same predicament. I haven't bothered to get that far into the weeds.

I think we should allow RAR to add him back to his Minor League list for the first or so of the season if he wishes. Then allow him to reselect this pick. He is new to the league and this did get past me. As far the others I'm pretty sure he's the only one I missed. And the franchise players, well if they are over the limit they're FA. I'm using the 2010 stats filter on the yahoo league site.
I agree, lets all have the same understanding. Will be the first time, but I have hope.
My 2 cents.

Richie took over a team in limbo towards the end of last season. He should re-pick and then add Travis Wood within the first two weeks of the season if he wants to keep him.
