Having him rated as high as a top 50 prospect, Third overall at his position, The Yankees are happy he fell to the Fourth round. In doing so The Yankees select....Brandon SNYDER • Catcher • Baltimore Orioles.
Sports: Snyder was the Orioles’ No. 1 pick in 2005, drafted 13th overall out of high school. He played shortstop most of the time in high school and is new to the tools of ignorance, but his pedigree and work ethic should enable him to succeed quickly. His offensive game is very advanced for a high school player, as he pairs his ability to pull the ball with authority with good patience and the ability to hit the ball to all fields. His arm strength is good, but he will need to fine-tune his release in order to be an average defender behind the plate. If he does, he will fit somewhere between Jorge Posada and Victor Martinez when he reaches his peak.

Salsero, sorry bud, but your time had ended. I'd like to let you have the selection, but we've already imposed the rule on a few others and it wouldn't be fair to them to let you select after the fact of your 24 hour window. Your pick was 2 1/2 days after winker's.

The Phillies have given the Commissioner their pick (as he heads to the podium):
With the 10th selection in the 4th round of the 2006 CSC minor league draft, the GPF Phillies select: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Chris Denorfia, Outfielder, Reds

The Boston Red Sox dig deep into the Minors and select:
Kevin Slowey, SP, Twins
Slowey (22 years old) was a 2nd Round selection in the 2005 June draft and has posted remarkable statistics thus far in his first full year in the minors. His Strikeout / Walk ratio is simply ridiculous, having 137 Ks and just 10 walks in 113.1 Innings Pitched. He also has a 1.83 career ERA in his time in the minors...
Both he and Matt Garza should be promoted to AA in the coming weeks, as they are both dominating their current league.

Our buddy Osborne switched computers, didn't have the URL for CSC, forgot his username... the whole works! He should be back online tonight to make his two selections.
