So, in everyone's opinion, what has been the biggest surprise of our draft so far?
1.) Rickie Weeks selection at #8
2.) Round 1 selection of Juan Pierre
3.) Red Sox trade of David Ortiz
4.) Prince Fielder selection in Round 2
5.) The fall of Soriano to Round 2

Yes, the Ortiz trade is certainly a crapshoot. However, it landed me:
- 1B prospects Prince Fielder and Kendry Morales - The best 2B prospect in baseball (Howie Kendrick) - A 3rd Rd pick in the minor league draft, which should be a Baseball America Top 100 prospect
Hopefully one of those 1B pans out into a solid player. Fielder has hit near .300 in the minors and has power out the wazoo, so it is possible that he'll evolve into a Big Papi type. He's also only 21 years old or so.
Time will tell, I guess.

Red Sox get: - 1st Rd. #1 in Minor League draft - SP prospect Adam Wainwright
Osbornetorun1 will confirm the deal...

Regarding free agents that have not signed with another club at the time we each picked our teams.
For instance, Roger Clemens is a FA. He might sign with the Astros, Yankees or whomever. Each team's roster is set once they chose that team. If I chose the Indians and the next day after, they traded Grady Sizemore, he would still be on my team because I chose them the day before the trade.
Any player that is a FA is available to be drafted. If he drafted by a team (no matter if he signs with someone else after he is drafted in this draft), then he will belong to that team. -----Case in point. Roger CLemens is a FA. He is drafted by the Red Sox (TFAZ). But doesn't sign with a team. For TFAZ to keep his rights, he must keep him on his roster. If he lets him go, he becomes a FA. Then if Roger Clemens does sign with a team in real life and it's a team in our league, that team would have his rights.
Say a FA goes into the draft and goes undrafted. Then that FA signs with a team before the season or during the season. If he was never claimed or drafted by an organization, then the team the FA signed with would have the right to put him on his team or let him become a FA for other teams in the league to sign/claim. -----Case in point. Roger Clemens is a FA. He isn't drafted by any of us in this draft. Then on May 1st he signs with the Yankees in real life. WHoever has the Yankees in our league - they would own his rights.
